Well, folks, it’s happened. Yesterday, Labour’s blackout prevention plan was activated across Britain—because of low winds and dropping temperatures.
That’s right, the lights almost went out, and what’s the grand response from the powers that be? They’ve just gone and closed our last remaining coal power station. I mean, honestly—idiots.
Let’s be clear: we are staring down the barrel of an energy crisis. And what’s Labour doing about it? They’re not just switching off reliable, steady energy sources; they’re chopping off every lifeline that keeps this great nation running.
The Net Zero agenda is now taking steroids and has been turned into a fanatic’s dream of renewable energy at all costs—and now the chickens are coming home to roost. Labour are axing our dependable energy sources in favour of wind farms that don’t spin when we need them most. It’s madness, pure and simple. And if we carry on like this, we’ll soon be sitting around dinner tables with candles—not for mood lighting, but because the power’s gone out. Wake up, for heaven’s sake!

The truth is, we need more energy, not less. We should be investing in a balanced energy mix that includes nuclear, clean coal, and, yes, domestic oil and gas. Instead, Labour is merrily shipping our energy dependency off to places like China and Russia. It’s as if Ed Miliband and his mates don’t realise that shipping oil and gas halfway across the world is far more harmful to the planet than drilling right here in our own back yard. You can’t just ship your carbon footprint away Ed—it doesn’t disappear, it just gets bigger on someone else’s watch.
There’s a word for this sort of behaviour: hypocrisy. It’s eco-virtue signalling at its worst, where the optics of being “green” seem to matter more than the actual results.
Britain has always been a global leader in science, innovation, and common sense. But under this Labour government’s Net Zero zealotry, we’re at risk of becoming an energy backwater, dependent on imports, sitting in the dark, and patting ourselves on the back for shutting down the very resources that keep the lights on.
So, let’s get real, shall we? We’re an island nation rich in resources, with the capacity to power ourselves safely and sustainably. Let’s not throw it all away on a pipe dream of 100% renewables, when what we need is reliability.

It’s time for this government to stop playing fast and loose with our energy security, and start embracing the practical solutions right under our feet. Drama Starmer and Mad Miliband need to stop sipping their herbal tea in the ivory towers of fantasy and start embracing the practical solutions that are right under our feet. Britain doesn’t need to be a shivering spectacle on the world stage—let’s harness what’s ours, keep the lights on, and show the world we’re not afraid to think with our heads instead of the wind.
