Bentley Motors is celebrating a remarkable year of community investment in 2024, with its Advancing Life Chances (ALC) Strategy making an impact on thousands of lives across the UK.
Through its ambitious initiatives, the luxury automotive giant has supported around 450 charitable donations and projects, benefiting an estimated 40,000 individuals.
This milestone underscores Bentley’s commitment to empowering communities, improving access to essential services, and fostering brighter futures.
A National Impact: The ALC Small Grants Programme
Bentley’s national Small Grants Programme has gone from strength to strength in 2024, providing funding of up to £500 to charities and community groups that support vulnerable, disadvantaged, or under-represented communities. This year, 273 organisations received funding, a significant increase from 200 in 2023. Projects backed by the programme are projected to positively impact over 30,000 people nationwide, reflecting Bentley’s growing commitment to meaningful social change.
Crewe-Based Programmes: A Local Focus
As the heart of Bentley Motors, Crewe has remained a central focus of the company’s community investment strategy. Three tailored initiatives have delivered significant support to local residents in 2024:
Advancing Life Chances Crewe Fund
In collaboration with the Cheshire Community Foundation, this fund has supported nine 12-month projects addressing local needs in Crewe, reaching nearly 5,800 residents. Organisations such as Chance Changing Lives, Wishing Well Project, and Young Enterprise have benefited from Bentley’s commitment to enhancing life chances in the community.
Bentley Crisis Fund
Launched in 2022, the Bentley Crisis Fund continues to provide sustainable support for urgent needs in Crewe. In 2024, £10,000 in grants was awarded, building on the 141 beneficiaries supported in 2023. The fund is a permanent lifeline for the community, ensuring help is available when it is needed most.
CCF Crewe Fund
This collaborative initiative, supported by Bentley and local businesses, pools resources to fund impactful community projects. In 2024, 12 charities received support, benefiting over 1,250 individuals—a clear demonstration of the fund’s growing reach and effectiveness.
Award-Winning Community Commitment
Bentley’s dedication to social sustainability has not gone unnoticed. In 2024, the company earned two prestigious accolades:
- Best in Social Sustainability in the Luxury Automotive Industry by The Business Concept, recognising Bentley’s leadership in creating positive social change.
- UK National Gold Winner for Community Commitment at the International Corporate Social Responsibility Excellence Awards, further highlighting its dedication to advancing life chances.
Bentley also sponsored the Contribution to the Community Award at the South Cheshire Chamber Awards, celebrating the exceptional work of local organisations. The 2024 award was presented to the Stroke Survivors Speech and Language Support Group, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the Crewe community.
Driving Change, Advancing Life Chances
Sally Hepton, Bentley’s Director of Government Relations and Sustainable Luxury, reflected on the company’s 2024 achievements:
“2024 has been a great year for our community investment efforts. At Bentley, we remain dedicated to advancing life chances by addressing critical needs, both in our hometown of Crewe and across the UK. From funding grassroots initiatives to scaling our national impact, we are proud to see the tangible difference our work is making. These achievements are a testament to our long-term commitment to sustainable luxury and social responsibility.”
Bentley Motors’ Advancing Life Chances Strategy exemplifies the company’s vision of blending luxury with responsibility. As the year draws to a close, Bentley’s efforts in 2024 serve as a shining example of how corporate responsibility can transform lives and communities for the better.
