280 jobs to be created at new £150 million drinks can manufacturing hub in Peterborough

A new state of the art drinks can factory is now under construction in Peterborough and is expected to create at least 280 jobs.

Pennsylvania-based Crown is investing £150 million pounds into the new hub which will see it become the largest aluminium can production facility in Europe.

Recruitment is now under way to fill the 280 vacancies that are expected to be created with the completion of the factory which is expected to be completed by this summer.,

The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) say they have been tasked to help fill the job openings for the 625,000 square feet factory that is currently under construction.

According to DWP roles include various mechanical and electrical engineers, plus various quality control and managerial roles to oversee supply chain etc.

Developers announced on social media that construction is ‘progressing fast.’

Greg Dalton, development manager for Trebor Developments said:

“This significant build-to-suit manufacturing facility will be a fantastic accolade for all parties when completed, we continue to work closely with Crown to ensure the unit is delivered on budget and on programme.”
