British manufacturer BioPure set to open new multi-million pound factory and create 130 jobs

BioPure Technology is set to open new multi-million pound factory in Havant, Hampshire and create 130 jobs.

The British firm is a leading supplier of fluid path components to the biopharmaceutical industry worldwide and expects the huge investment to create 130 jobs.

Part of Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group (WMFTG), Biopure has now received the keys for its custom-built facility at Dunsbury Park, with production due to begin in March 2022.

Beginning construction in 2019, the new facility is five times the size of the company’s previous two buildings combined and will provide much needed additional capacity to support the company’s ongoing growth.

BioPure has pioneered the design, development and delivery of innovative engineering solutions for customers in the global biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries since 1998.

Comprising 120,000 sq. ft, the company say the new facility will help to support BioPure’s ambitious vision, growth and commitment to supporting customers worldwide. The company’s key aims include simplifying production operations, lowering cGMP manufacturing costs and reducing process validation.

The new facility, based just 4 miles from the current site in Portsmouth, is now home to BioPure’s current team of 232 employees and aims to bring on a diverse range of new talent in manufacturing, engineering, production, design, assembly, logistics and administration.

The expansion will create 130 new jobs across a range of disciplines and the company is looking for talented individuals to join the team.

Steve Feasey, Manager Director of BioPure, commented:

“This is a very exciting time for BioPure, with demand for our products increasing year on year. We’re thrilled to get the keys to our new facility, providing increased capacity for us to deliver our high-quality fluid path components and strengthen our support for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.

“This demonstrates our ongoing commitment to improving our customer service and our team is excited to start work from this state-of-the-art facility. We look forward to continuing to grow and develop more market-leading fluid management solutions.”
