British manufacturer Tiger Trailers has reported the highest sales in its history after winning a host of new orders.

The family-owned firm employs over 200 people at its £22 million trailer production facility in Cheshire.

Based in Winsford, Cheshire and soon celebrating its 10th year in business, Tiger Trailers is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of articulated semi-trailers and rigid bodywork. The firm builds the complete range of trailers, from curtainsiders, fixed and moving double decks and flatbeds, to temperature-controlled trailers, specialist vehicles and demounts.

Recent contracts won include a deal with leading global tyre manufacturer, Continental, who choose Tiger Trailers as it further strengthens its UK articulated fleet with a fleet of box van semi-trailers.

Another contract won earlier this year saw leading UK manufacturer of energy efficient lighting, Dextra Group plc, take delivery of Tiger Trailers-built curtainsided rigid trucks along with a special urban trailer designed for the restricted environments in which the company’s vehicles often operate.

The relationship between Tiger Trailers and trailer hire giant, Zenith, also continues to grow with the Cheshire manufacturer recently building and supplying 250 semi-trailers of differing types, 150 unbranded tri axle single deck curtainsiders and 100 curtainsided double deck step-frame trailers with wraparound curtains for operational versatility, some of which carry the branding of a major pet retailer. Zenith currently enjoy a 22% share of the UK articulated trailer hire market.

Phil Rodman, Managing Director of Zenith Trailer Rentals, says:

“We have developed a close and valued working relationship with Tiger Trailers over the last two years and are very pleased with the quality of the trailers manufactured in time and in full manner.”

“The Tiger Trailers assets were built to our exact requirements and form an important part of our sizeable and versatile rental fleet of over 50,000 heavy commercial vehicles, and we look forward to continuing to grow our relationship with Tiger throughout 2023 and beyond.”

Simon Sumner, Continental’s Transport Operations Manager, adds:

“Tiger Trailers have taken time to fully understand our business and its challenges, identify our requirements, then design and build trailers that suit our unique operation. Features for functionality, longevity and safety in operation have been engineered in by Tiger without compromise.”

“The trailers perform exceptionally well and have a very impressive presence on the road. Tiger Trailers deliver a premium product in line with Continental’s position as a premium brand. It is a pleasure to work with Tom and the rest of the team at Tiger and we look forward to continuing our successful partnership.”
