Britain’s teenage tennis star Emma Raducanu is through to the final of the US Open after a remarkable 6-1, 6-4 victory over the world number 18, Maria Sakkari.
The 18-year-old from Bromley is the youngest Briton to reach a grand slam final in more than 60 years and put on one of the greatest performances of any British tennis player in history.
Playing in the biggest tennis stadium in the world Emma is the first qualifier to ever reach the final.
Asked if she was feeling the pressure now that she is one game from grand slam glory, the rising star laughed and said:
Emma will play Canada’s Leylah Fernandez, in the final at Arthur Ashe Stadium on Saturday.
