CLOWNING STREET: WEEK 59 – This Week’s Madness from ‘Two-Tier Keir’ and His Labour Circus

Step right up, ladies and gentlemen, and prepare yourselves for yet another tragicomic performance under the tattered canvas of Britain’s most shambolic circus.

The posters may say government, but what you’re watching is a travelling sideshow of pratfalls, policy pratwheels, and political pie-throwing.

Welcome to Week 59 of Clowning Street, where Two-Tier Keir and his troupe of misfits stumble from one disaster to the next with all the grace of an elephant on roller skates.

Let us begin with the Big Trick that keeps going wrong: the Chagos Islands sell-out. We were told this geopolitical giveaway would cost a tidy sum, but now the rabbit is out of the hat and the bill is a staggering 35 billion pounds, ten times what Starmer and Lammy claimed. That’s right, folks, not only are they handing away British territory, insulting the Chagossians, and undermining our defence, they are also torching taxpayers’ money like a clown with a flaming juggling pin. At this rate, perhaps Labour should put “world’s most expensive surrender” on a plaque and hang it at the entrance to the circus tent.

Next, we move to the fortune-telling booth, where Rachel Reeves tried her hand at numbers and managed to get them wrong again. The Chancellor of Chaos was caught misleading MPs and peers with false figures, before being forced into a humiliating correction. Copying from the other people’s playbooks one week, making up her own sums the next… Reeves is fast becoming the clown accountant, furiously shuffling her papers while the circus burns around her.

Meanwhile, in the Welfare Tent, the sick notes are flying like confetti. Over one million more people have been signed off work, pushing Britain’s welfare bomb towards detonation. Labour calls it compassion. The rest of us call it a benefits circus, where able-bodied clowns are pushed onto the high wire of taxpayer dependency while hardworking families foot the bill.

In the Job Juggling Act, payrolls have now collapsed to their lowest since Covid thanks to Labour’s relentless tax raids strangling businesses. Employers are packing up, employees are laid off, and the so-called party of fairness has turned into the party of economic suffocation. Add to this another historic private school closing its doors due to Labour’s politics of envy VAT raid, and you can hear the groans from the bleachers. This is not levelling up… it is tearing down.

But wait, there’s more. Starmer is indeed breaking records, but sadly, they are all the wrong ones. Record welfare dependency. Record job losses. Record school closures. Record dishonesty. If Britain wanted a clown to juggle world records, we’d have called Guinness. Instead, we got a Guinness of failures.

Enter the Justice Tent, where Lord Hermer has once again taken centre stage with his two-tier sentencing this week. Stab someone? Get off lightly. Post something on Facebook? Straight to jail. It is justice turned into slapstick, a routine so absurd even the circus monkeys are shaking their heads.

And let’s not forget Birmingham Council, a bankrupt clown car on fire, which somehow found the money to light up the city in honour of Pakistan while local residents live in ruin. If there were ever proof that Labour puts everyone else first while their own people suffer, it is glowing in neon across a bankrupt skyline.

Finally, the clown car itself lost another passenger this week, as Starmer’s trade envoy resigned after an unauthorised trip. Yes, when even your own circus troupe is sneaking off mid-performance, you know the tent poles are collapsing.

So what have we learned from Week 59 under the Labour circus? Britain is poorer, weaker, and more humiliated every single week this troupe of jokers remains in charge. Starmer is not a ringmaster. He is a pratfall artist, stumbling from one crisis to the next, dragging the whole nation with him.

And yet the circus trundles on, horns honking, trousers falling down, custard pies splattering across the arena. The only question left is how much more of this nonsense the audience — that is, the British people — are willing to endure before they storm the ring and kick the clowns out for good.
