Conservatives can absolutely win the next election, says Sophie Corcoran

Voters aren’t inspired by Labour, they’re just angry at Conservatives… but that’s nothing we can’t turn around, says political commentator Sophie Corcoran.

Now the dust has settled on the by-elections and the media has done all of their over exaggerating, I have come to one conclusion… the conservatives can absolutely win the next election.

The media seemed to overlook the fact that Labour also had a dreadful night. They failed to win Uxbridge which they were confident their man from Camden, who loves a rainbow crossing, would do.

Then whilst they celebrated a dramatic win in Selby and Ainsty for 25-year-old Oxbridge educated, CBI working, PR man Keir Mather (as if we didn’t have enough of those already in Parliament), what they failed to mention is that he only gained an extra two thousand votes from their 2019 attempt… AND most of these came from the Liberal Democrats.

“The reason Mather won isn’t because the people love labour. It’s solely because Tory voters were understandably annoyed and decided to stay home.”

The reason Mather won isn’t because the people love labour. It’s solely because Tory voters were understandably annoyed and decided to stay home. And who could blame them? An MP walking away is quite the betrayal.

And whilst I would be stupid to pretend the Conservatives had a good night. We obviously didn’t.

However, I do believe that if we start to put things right and show people what they are voting for, not only will we win back Selby, by getting those 21k voters back out but we will also win back Somerton, whose new MP practically had a mental breakdown when she was asked the most basic questions about her constituency then resorted to blame her coffee. I believe Conservatives will also win the next general election.

Let’s think about what life is like under the areas of the country that are currently controlled by labour.

Look at what labour brings when they’re in power:

First up London…

  • kids getting stabbed to death in the streets
  • sky high crime
  • bankrupt TFL
  • increased tube and bus fairs
  • ULEZ that robs the working class blind
  • LTNs that are a disaster for disabled people

Then let’s look over to Wales…

  • most draconian lockdown policies
  • worst NHS waiting times in the entire country
  • 20mph limits in every town are 2 months away
  • Farmers about to be put out of business by grant reforms
  • Crazy ‘sustainable’ drainage and sprinklers make house building unaffordable

And then labour councils…

  • Croydon… cough cough… enough said.

Everywhere Labour are in charge, they have deliberately made life more expensive and more difficult for the ordinary men and women of Britain.

“Everywhere Labour are in charge, they have deliberately made life more expensive and more difficult for the ordinary men and women of Britain.”

Voters aren’t inspired by Labour. They’re just angry at us – but that’s nothing we can’t turn around. We must give voters a reason to go out and vote and we can do that.

We absolutely can win the next general election. The media and the unrepresentative polls mean nothing – we can win.

We need to bring back the fight, the passion and the desire to run this country in the best way possible.

We can’t sit and watch Labour take power – there’s no reason for us to.
