Rule Britannia! Flying Taxis, Trooping Glory, and the Return of British Grit in a Week of Great British Triumphs (No Thanks to Labour!).
In a world seemingly spinning into chaos, it’s weeks like this that remind us what truly makes Britain great. Even though we have the most dreadful Labour Government, we still have a lot to be proud of.
From historic flights to political grit, from national pride on parade to sporting excellence, the spirit of the United Kingdom is still soaring high.
While Keir Starmer and his weary Cabinet continue to bumble through scandal and backlash, it is the people, the patriots, and a few unflinching public figures who are lighting the path forward.
This week, the Conservative’s indefatigable Robert Jenrick has surged once again into the spotlight, standing tall as one of the few political voices unafraid to challenge the managed decline of our nation. In a rousing feature that gripped Conservative and Reformer readers, Jenrick was hailed as a man “fighting back against Britain’s decline” — a rallying cry for all those who believe in sovereignty, strength and serious leadership. If you haven’t done so already, do check out his videos. He’s a one-man insurgency against the Establishment’s great shrug… and it’s wonderful to watch.
Meanwhile, public outrage over Labour’s disgraceful Chagos Islands deal is growing by the day. Over 10,000 people have already signed the Great British PAC’s petition demanding MPs block the handover — a patriotic surge against Starmer’s quiet capitulation of British territory. This isn’t just a protest; it’s a movement. A line in the sand. The British people are saying: enough.
But if politics has left you weary, fear not — Britain’s greatness also soared skyward this week, quite literally. In a moment of sheer innovation and wonder, a British-made flying taxi completed its historic first flight in European open airspace. It wasn’t just an engineering feat — it was a declaration: we are still pioneers. While others talk of the future, Britain builds it.
On the ground, our armed forces returned home heroes. Some 3,000 troops have arrived back from Estonia after a powerful show of strength near the Russian border, a reminder that when NATO needs muscle, Britain leads from the front.
At home, preparations are in full swing for Trooping the Colour ahead of the King’s Birthday Parade on June 14. Rehearsals are already underway, promising another spellbinding display of British pomp, discipline and pageantry — unmatched anywhere in the world. From drum majors to cavalry, the march of tradition continues.
On the cultural front, a new blockbuster-inspired film is taking audiences by storm, placing Britain proudly centre stage in a story bursting with heroism, heart and homegrown pride. For too long we’ve been fed tales of decline — finally, here’s a story where Britain shines.
And let’s not forget our sporting heroes. Great Britain’s men’s gymnastics team clinched European gold with a flawless performance that left judges and audiences in awe. It was a golden reminder that excellence, dedication and national pride still define our athletes.
Even our landscapes were celebrated, as it was revealed this week that a staggering 900 miles of our beloved coastline are now protected thanks to the generosity of the British public. Whether through heritage preservation or simple love of land and sea, the people of Britain are safeguarding the beauty of these isles for generations to come.
So take heart, Britain. The flag still flies high, the spirit is unbroken, and as the headlines of this week prove, no matter who occupies Downing Street, the greatness of this nation endures.
Here are the best-read and most shared positive stories from this week (26 May – 1 June 2025), proving once again that no matter who is in government, the greatness of Britain endures.
