
HMS Richmond has fired her Sea Ceptor missiles, shooting down two Houthi drones On Saturday 9th March.
HMS Richmond fired missiles and shot down hostile Houthi drones heading towards the ship.
HMS Richmond is currently taking part in Operation Prosperity Guardian, protecting merchant shipping in the Red Sea from Houthi rebel attacks.
Defence Secretary Grant Shapps said:
“The UK and our allies will continue to take the action necessary to save lives and protect freedom of navigation.”

The Plymouth based type 23 frigate HMS Richmond fired her sea Ceptor missiles to defend the ship and merchant vessels in the vicinity.
The Royal Navy frigate and international allies cooperated and sustained no injuries or damage, the MOD said.
The MOD added that personnel on HMS Richmond acted in an “exemplary manner”.

HMS Richmond was deployed to the Red Sea to help safeguard international shipping from attacks by Iranian-backed Houthi rebels, as HMS Diamond returned for restock and resupply.
