The King has approved the following government appointments:
Rt Hon James Cleverly MP has been made Secretary of State for the Home Department and former Prime Minister David Cameron has been appointed Foreign Secretary in a return to the political frontline.
Downing Street announced the appointment of the former Prime Minister to the role and said he was being handed a life peerage to enable him to take up the Cabinet position.
Meanwhile, James Cleverly has replaced Suella Braverman as Home Secretary following her sacking this morning, a move which has stunned many on the right of the party.
Mr Cameron has been away from the political frontline for more than seven years after his exit from No10 in July 2016 in the wake of the Brexit referendum.
Jeremy Hunt will remain as Chancellor of the Exchequer, Downing Street has said.
More to follow.
