El Alamein Flight is part of a new generation of Trainee Gunners who have successfully completed their Phase 1 training at RAF Halton prior to arriving at the RAF Regiment Training Wing, RAF Honington for a further 20 weeks of Phase 2 training.
Congratulations to the latest Aviators who have now graduated and can celebrate as they are reunited with their families.
The Trainee Gunners are taught basic combat tactics in the Air/Ground Environment, the fundamentals of Air Force Protection and advanced fieldcraft skills, further live-fire ranges are also conducted.

The progressive Physical Training programme continues to build up strength and fitness from Phase 1 training in order to prepare the recruits for the demanding final exercises.
Reviewing Officer Colonel Edmund Loughran attended the Graduation from neighbouring RAF Mildenhall whereby he is currently Commander of the 752nd Special Operations Group.
Also in attendance were VIP guests HM Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk Lady Clare the Countess of Euston, Air Vice-Marshal The Honourable David Murray, Councillor Mike Chester of West Suffolk Council and Mayor of Thetford Councillor Mike Brindle who were invited to visit the Station and view the Graduation alongside Station Commander Group Captain Dutch Holland.
On graduating from this course, the Leading Aviators are posted to either 1 Sqn RAF Regt at RAF Honington,15 Sqn RAF Regt (RAF Marham), 51 Squadron RAF Regt (RAF Lossiemouth) or 63 Squadron RAF Regt (RAF Northolt).
They will be trained to such a level that they can immediately commence Mission Specific Training for contingency operations.
