“Labour will not stop the boats, look how Labour and the Left and their lawyers stop the planes when we’re trying to deport murderers and criminals. It’s up to the Conservatives to solve the problem.”

Conservative MP Andrea Jenkyns has hit out at Labour’s Angela Rayner for ignoring parliamentary protocol and campaigning in her Morley and Outwood constituency earlier this week.

The senior Conservative MP told GB News: “She did the same as Corbyn did in 2019. She turned up campaigning in my constituency on Wednesday. She ignored parliamentary protocol, which says that if you go to another MPs constituency, you’ve got to inform them, and she blatantly ignored it and went campaigning.

“But remember in 2019, she dragged a whole load of infant school children out of one of our local schools in my constituency and got them posing with a thumbs up outside at the Labour battle bus during the general election. So, I do think it’s one rule for Labour and another rule for everybody else, of course.”

Ms Jenkyns says she also suspects Angela Rayner as the architect of the controversial “attack ad” campaign Labour has launched on the Conservatives. In one Labour message, Rishi Sunak was accused of not wanting to send child sex offenders to prison.

Ms Jenkyns told GB News how the campaign felt as if it came out of the Deputy Prime Minister’s playbook.

She told Dan Wootton: “It wouldn’t surprise me if these attack ads that we’ve been seeing, if it’s actually Ange who’s been advising them what to put out there. I think it’s from her playbook. And also, let’s not forget, Pat McFadden did not deny that the children of politicians could be fair game in their attacks. So how low will they stoop? I mean, I think they are not as strong in the polls as they were in previous months. And I think they’re getting quite desperate now. But I think the public can see exactly what they’re doing.”

“So how low will [Labour] stoop? I mean, I think they are not as strong in the polls as they were in previous months. And I think they’re getting quite desperate now. But I think the public can see exactly what they’re doing.”

Meanwhile Ms Jenkyns also explained how hearing Rishi Sunak row back on his ‘cast iron’ pledge to ‘stop the boats’ in an interview has led her to write directly to the Prime Minister to demand he withdraw the UK from the European Court of Human Rights.

Her furious reaction came in response to an interview with Conservative Home, during which Sunak refused to guarantee he would stop the boats by the next election. Asked if he intended to do so he said, “No. Look, I’ve always said this is not something that is easy. It’s a complicated problem with no single, simple solution that will fix it. It won’t happen overnight; I’ve been very clear about that.”

“When I heard that I was flabbergasted,” Andrea Jenkyns told GB News. “I think that trust in politicians is at an all-time low. I’ve been campaigning in my constituency in the local elections and there’s so much apathy out there.

“I think we really need to restore trust with the public and in my mail bag this is one of the highest numbers of case work I get – talking about the boats. Labour is never in a million years going to stop the small boats, so it’s the Conservatives and the only way we can do this is pulling out of the ECHR.”

“Labour is never in a million years going to stop the small boats, so it’s the Conservatives and the only way we can do this is pulling out of the ECHR.”

“When the small boats bill went through parliament a couple of weeks ago there were plenty of amendments which I signed, which were to ignore the ECHR regarding this,” Jenkyns added.

“So, Rishi our Prime Minister has got to get hold of it. There’s no way we’ll win an election unless we restore trust in politicians, in our government. Labour will not stop the boats, look how Labour and the Left and their lawyers stop the planes when we’re trying to deport murderers and criminals. It’s up to the Conservatives to solve the problem.”
