Twitter (X) Suffers Major Outage as Thousands Report Access Issues

X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, is experiencing widespread outages for the second consecutive day, with tens of thousands of users reporting issues accessing the app and website.

According to Downdetector, an independent outage monitoring site, nearly 12,000 users initially flagged problems with the platform on Friday, followed by a surge of more than 25,000 reports from users in the United States alone. The outage appears to be affecting both the mobile application and the web-based version of the platform.

Users attempting to view new posts — formerly called tweets — are being met with an error message that reads: “Something went wrong. Try reloading.”

The cause of the disruption has not been officially confirmed by X. However, this latest issue follows a “massive cyber attack” in March 2025, which triggered intermittent service outages and raised concerns over the platform’s cybersecurity measures.

As of Saturday afternoon, service remains inconsistent, with users in multiple regions continuing to report difficulties logging in, refreshing their timelines, or posting content. No official statement has been released by the company addressing the current outage.

This developing story will be updated as more information becomes available.
