William, Kate and their three children have released an upbeat festive picture showing that it’s business as usual for the Waleses.
The image was taken by photographer Matt Porteous earlier this year in Norfolk and has featured on the royal couple’s annual Christmas card.
Hand-in-hand, the Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children (George, Charlotte and Louis) are seen wearing denim, trainers and coordinated white and blue shirts striding happily along a country path near their home in Norfolk.
At a time when the Royal family, and Waleses in particular, are under attack from Harry and Meghan in the US, critics are saying the picture is a much welcomed and happy scene “free of pointed or coded signs.”
The Telegraph call it “a tried-and-tested formula from which the Prince and Princess have barely deviated in recent years: a favourite photographer, a countryside setting and a glimpse of ‘behind the scenes’ without giving too much away.”
Their spokesperson released the photo saying: “The Prince and Princess of Wales are delighted to share a new photograph of their family.”
King Charles and Camilla’s first Christmas card as monarch was also released this week.
The photograph shows the King and the Queen Consort at the Braemar Royal Highland Gathering.
The image was taken by award-winning photographer Sam Hussein on 3rd September, five days before Her Royal Highness the Queen passed away.
The image, released by Buckingham Palace, sees the King dressed in a tweed suit with a red, green and beige tie. Camilla, looking adoringly at him is wearing a green suit, matching hat and pearl earrings.
