Join the People’s Revolt: Tax Immigration and Crime, Not Decent Patriotic Brits
Well, that didn’t take long! 8 weeks, and as the Conservative Post predicted, the country is imploding.
At the heart of it are decades of treating hard-working, honest British people as second-class citizens, while our precious public services and housing are handed out to criminals, grifters and illegal immigrants.
Two-tier policing is the tip of the iceberg. We face two-tier taxes, two-tier access to public services, and two-tier selection for jobs, schools and universities. Enough is enough. It’s time to get even.
And given that Rachel Reeves is already short of £20bn for her profligate spending plans, let’s give British patriots a break and get some money from criminals and foreign arrivals. This seems fair. Labour loves windfall taxes; and if anyone has enjoyed a windfall, its immigrants and criminals. The former have enjoyed ever more legal rights, looser visas and priority access to British public services, while criminals are luxuriating in softer sentences, cushier jails and generous benefits.

As I will show, tot it all up and we’re owed £50-£80bn a year from criminals and immigrants. That’s enough to instantly fill Rachel Reeves’ financial black hole AND abolish National Insurance, Stamp Duty and Inheritance Tax for honest hardworking British taxpayers like you and me.
Oh, and there’d still be a good few billion to spare for British families.
The most evil criminals alone could hand us an extra £10bn a year: small compensation for the enormous economic and emotional costs they impose on our society. Just to be clear, we are not talking about a desperate mother who shoplifts a toy or a loaf of bread. This is only for criminals who commit unconscionable offences (such as child abuse, rape or murder), or pathological criminals – i.e. those who commit dozens of crimes a year and show no intention of stopping.
This tiny minority of less than 1% of the population commit roughly half of all crimes – that’s five million offences a year! Scandalously, very few of these hyper-prolific offenders ever go to jail, even after fifty offences! That puts the British public in extreme danger. It is not just the trauma and misery caused by crime, but the constant fear of living in a society where criminals can run amok without the slightest fear of the consequences.
So if Labour won’t imprison them, let’s at least hit them in the wallet, with an extra lifetime charge of 25% on all benefits and income, and 100% inheritance tax on death. Perhaps we should start with Huw Edwards’ £300k a year pension. Unlike our current soft sentencing, that at least would be a real punishment.
Next up is illegal immigrants, who are themselves criminals. There’s another £5 or £10 billion a year we can raise from them, and it could also stop the boats. Applying a student loans style system would see anyone entering the UK without valid paperwork facing a £100k strict liability fine and having to pay for everything (and I mean everything) they claim. And if they cannot pay upfront, they will need to take out a high-interest loan. From now on, nothing would be free: food, healthcare, accommodation, translators, legal fees, phone calls and all future visas would all have to be paid for.
All this would have to be borrowed by the asylum seeker. They would be liable to pay it all back to the British government; with the money automatically deducted from any income, benefits and ultimately inheritance.
This simple approach kills off the economic case for illegal immigration. With hundreds of thousands (plus interest) to be paid back, there is no chance of getting rich, owning a house, a car, or enjoying a decent holiday. The possibility of a comfortable life is off the table.
In fact, it incentivises asylum seekers to leave whenever it becomes possible. If your home country becomes safe you will want to escape the bills. If your application is unsuccessful, you will want to get out before the bailiffs come, and never return to face your debts.
Moreover, it incentivises asylum seekers to cooperate and minimise costs. If you demand a four-star accommodation, bring dozens of spurious legal cases, do not cooperate, abscond or demand special treatment; you will pay for it with interest for the rest of your life. The only way to make an economic success would be to cooperate and minimise your costs. And if you’re claim is successful, work every hour God sends to pay off your debts.
But the real icing on the cake is that a financial deterrent like this does not breach Human Rights Laws. The ECHR requires people to be given access to rights. However, the state is under no obligation to provide them for free. Having cancelled Rwanda, Starmer now faces a backlog of 100,000 asylum seekers. Hitting them all with a six-figure bill would go a long way to clearing the backlog and send them rushing back across the Channel.
Similarly, we should hit industries who knowingly employ illegal immigrants and illegal workers with billion-pound windfall taxes. There are at least a million illegal immigrants (those without citizenship or valid documentation) living in the UK, and that number is only exploding upwards. While those people use and abuse our public services and commit disproportionate amounts of crime, they are highly unlikely to make any social contribution or to pay any taxes. Strangely, illegal immigrants and their employers are given preferential treatment when it comes to criminality, and almost never get prosecuted for tax evasion. Whole industries have emerged that rely almost entirely on illegal immigration or illegal working by migrants.
Top of the list are online delivery giants like Amazon, Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat. On some estimates 50-90% of their workers may be illegal. They do this by allowing a legal worker to ‘outsource’ their jobs to dozens of other unidentified workers. Employee exploitation, child labour, modern slavery and immigration fraud are rife. The companies have known about this for years and worked hand-in-glove with the government to keep themselves above the law, raking in billions of profits for themselves, while placing all those costs on us. It is time to get even. Collectively these businesses are worth over $2 trillion. They (and any industry behaving like this) can easily pay us back a £10bn annual windfall tax until they can operate lawfully.
Finally, there is the big issue of legal mass migration. Conservative Post was one of the first news outlets to expose the enormous cost of mass migration, with legal migrants taking at least £30-50 bn more in public services than they put in. In some cases, a single migrant family can claim over £1m in free public services within five years.
Incredibly around two thirds of immigrants do not have to pay a penny in council taxes, even as our local authorities struggle with bankruptcy. And while the rest of us taxpayers suffer rising taxes due to fiscal drag and inflation; visa costs and salary thresholds do not rise with inflation or GDP, meaning life gets cheaper for immigrants while we foot their bills. Worst of all, much of the strain has fallen on the poorest British households, with mass migration costing them over £300 a week, every week.
Even if visa numbers fell drastically, we would still raise £50 billion, simply by charging the full market costs. For example, a citizenship mortgage scheme that charged those who wanted to stay the market value of settlement in Britain would raise over £30bn, even if numbers fell by two thirds.
Moreover, raising an extra £50bn a year from legal immigrants would not only bring down numbers, but drastically raise the quality. Crucially, it would force employers to invest in British people and British innovation. At last, we would start helping the nine million working age Brits who have no job.
Let’s be clear, this is nothing to do with ‘dog-whistle politics’ or the ‘far right.’ It is about fairness in a time of need. Each and every foreign national in the UK should pay at least their fair share for as long as they are here. So should employers. Criminals too should begin to pay back some of the terrible costs they impose on society. Up to now these enormous costs have fallen on our poorest and most vulnerable. Given the pressures we now face on our security, cost of living, public services and housing, it is time to put patriots first.
