Reclaiming Our Campuses: Why I’m Calling on Students to Stand Up for Britain

By Jake Reed, Universities Director – The Great British PAC.

When I was asked to come onboard as the Universities Director for the Great British PAC, it felt like more than just a title, it felt like a call to action.

For years, we’ve all watched our universities, institutions that should be the beating heart of debate, discussion, and discovery, drift further into ideological conformity.

As a current student myself, I know what it’s like to sit in a lecture and feel like the only person who dares to question the progressive orthodoxy. I know what it’s like to keep quiet (or even argue) in seminars because your beliefs, though rooted in tradition, common sense, and patriotism, are treated as heretical.

That’s why we’ve launched the NextGen PAC as part of the Great British PAC, to find and support future patriotic leaders. As part of that mission, we’ve created the Campus Leaders & Student Activists Campaign, not as a symbolic gesture, but as a serious, practical effort to give students across the country the platform and tools they need to push back and restore genuine intellectual diversity to our academic institutions.

The Mission

The mission is simple: to build a nationwide network of young patriots who are ready to organise, speak out, and lead.

We’re recruiting two key groups: Campus Leaders – students who will take initiative on the ground by hosting events, leading discussions, and representing the values of the Great British PAC at their university; and Student Activists – who will form the broader support base, helping to grow our presence locally, assist in campaign efforts, and spread the message that Britain is worth defending.

We want this network to become the backbone of a wider cultural revival; one that isn’t afraid to challenge the narrative and bring real debate back to campus life.

Why Now?

Because time is running out.

We’re living through an era where students are taught to be ashamed of their history, suspicious of their national identity, and cynical about Britain’s place in the world. The dominant student culture, fuelled by woke culture, identity politics, and climate alarmism, leaves no room for nuance, tradition, or pride in the values that built this country.

It’s created a chilling effect. Students are self-censoring. Events are being cancelled. Clubs are too afraid to host speakers unless they pass ideological tests. And the result is a generation at risk of being politically silenced before it even finds its voice.

We’re here to change that.

What’s in it for Students?

This campaign isn’t just about making noise. We’re offering real value to those who join us. Student involvement with the Great British PAC brings access to:

  • Training in political campaigning, communications, and media
  • Public speaking and press engagement opportunities
  • Direct networking with MPs, journalists, and cultural leaders
  • National conferences and speaking events

These are not only invaluable opportunities for any student looking to go into politics, media, or public life; they’re also a chance to become part of something bigger than yourself: a mission to help restore Britain’s confidence, values, and cultural identity.

Real Change, From the Ground Up

The most exciting part? This isn’t hypothetical. It’s happening right now.

From Warwick to Swansea, Cambridge to Belfast, and across the country, students are stepping forward. Many have written to me privately to say they’ve felt politically oppressed for too long — that they’ve been desperate to find a movement that reflects their values and gives them a purpose on campus. Now, they’ve found it.

We’re giving a voice to the students who have been ignored, mocked, and silenced. And we are giving them more than just a platform; we’re giving them a movement, a mission, and a future.

Final Word

If you’re a student who’s felt like you no longer recognise your campus…

If you’ve stayed quiet out of fear…

If you believe Britain is worth standing up for…

Then I want you to get in touch.

There’s never been a more important time to speak up — and there’s never been a better way to do it.

  1. This will be a long haul. Some years ago, while campaigning for the Conservatives, I was asked to find party activists in a regional university. I found twelve ! One of them told me that most of his fellow students were more interested in video gaming. Those that were politically loud and active wanted a revolution that afternoon. If anything, it’s now worse. You have the obligatory LGBTQ ideology and Jew hating thrown into the mix.
