Don’t Believe Starmer’s Immigration Spin – It’s a Con

Here we go again… Keir Starmer, the human weather vane, flipping in the political wind like a soggy copy of the Guardian on Hampstead Heath.

Now, he wants you to believe, with a face as straight as a railway through Euston, that he’s the man to get a grip on immigration. That he, of all people, is going to reduce the number of people entering the United Kingdom.

Piffle.

This is the same Keir Starmer who’s spent a legal and political lifetime lobbying to tear down border controls, rub out immigration limits, and usher in open-ended, unregulated entry into this country. He has championed calling for a free pass for anyone who makes it to our shores for years.

In 2020, he called to “end indefinite detention” and shut places like Yarl’s Wood. In 2015, he opposed even the smallest effort to hold landlords accountable for housing illegal migrants calling it “everyday racism.” This is a man who once described the entirety of immigration law as “racist”. Yes, really.

Now, I ask you, is that the language of a man determined to get tough?

Of course not. It’s the prose of someone ideologically opposed to border control. Of someone who, when given the choice, would rather signal virtue to left-leaning elites than stand up for British sovereignty, British workers, and British communities who are shouldering the consequences of unbalanced immigration.

Refugees welcome, he said. Held up the sign with glee. And his party? Equally delirious. David Lammy: migrants are “hugely beneficial.” Angela Rayner: the NHS would “collapse” without them. Pat McFadden: caps are cruel. Bridget Phillipson: wants more student migration. Yvette Cooper: every city and town should take in refugee families.

And now, having promised the moon and stars to win the General Election, they’re scribbling a white paper that might as well be titled: “How To Keep The Boats Coming.”

It’s not a plan. It’s a white flag.

They’ll let in a “limited pool” of UNHCR-recognised refugees for work? There are 123 million of them globally. Even one percent is more than a million. It’s not immigration control, it’s immigration surrender.

The Home Secretary says this plan will cut migration by 50,000, but that’s a rounding error. One bad year in the Channel and it’s gone. Home Office sources admit net UK migration could reach 525,000 annually by 2028.

This isn’t change. It’s repackaged chaos. They killed the one chance we had… Rwanda and now they are up the creak without a paddle.

The only useful policies Labour offer? They stole from the Tories. The Conservatives have long pushed to extend Indefinite Leave to Remain from 5 to 10 years. Now Starmer’s copied it… but copied it badly, leaving in loopholes and exemptions wide enough to drive a Eurostar through.

And what about deportations? What about clearing the backlog? What about the 10,000 foreign criminals banged up in our prisons? Labour doesn’t want to talk about that.

Because, deep down, Two-Tier-Keir still believes that enforcing immigration law is racist. That our judges – however liberal, however activist – must never be challenged. That any criticism of mass migration is “xenophobic”.

And so the bath overflows – while Labour gently nudges the tap.
