CLOWNING STREET: WEEK 68 – This Week’s Madness from ‘Two-Tier Keir’ and His Labour Circus

Roll up, roll up, dear readers! The lights are flickering, the sawdust’s thick, and the smell of panic fills the air… yes, the circus is still here, and it’s still called Clowning Street.

Under the sagging Big Top of Blunders, Two-Tier Keir and his motley troupe of red-nosed wonders continue to dazzle the nation with another week of unintentional comedy, bureaucratic slapstick, and moral contortionism that would make a yoga instructor blush.

Our ringmaster, Two-Tier Keir, kicked off proceedings with a spectacular display of delusion this week. Convinced he’d played a “key role” in Donald Trump’s Gaza ceasefire, he puffed out his chest and took a bow, apparently unaware that the only part he played in that diplomatic circus was selling the popcorn. Starmer’s self-importance now rivals the Big Top itself… inflated, threadbare, and held up by nothing but hot air.

Then came the China Spy Debacle, a truly breathtaking act of self-sabotage. Starmer managed to tie himself in knots over national security so badly that Labour HQ might as well hire him as a contortionist on the side. With revelations of Chinese interference swirling and his own ministers stumbling through contradictory statements, the PM has turned Britain’s foreign policy into a clown car reversing into a dragon’s den. Kemi Badenoch had to call him out, accusing Starmer of a “breach of trust” over his secrecy and spin. She was being too polite… “betrayal” might have been more accurate.

And while Starmer’s foreign follies stole the spotlight, back home the economy was performing its own death-defying nosedive. Unemployment has surged to its highest level since Covid, the jobs market is collapsing under Labour’s tax madness, and the International Monetary Fund warns that Britain now faces the worst inflation in the G7. Families are tightening their belts, and businesses are closing their tills… but never fear, the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, is here with her balloon animals of economic policy. Every time she tries to inflate one, it bursts spectacularly, showering taxpayers in the confetti of another broken promise.

Meanwhile, accountants have joined the chorus of boos, warning that Labour’s planned tax hikes will crush what’s left of Britain’s job market. It’s almost as if the government has confused “fiscal responsibility” with “financial self-harm.” Under Starmer’s circus, the economy isn’t being managed… it’s being juggled. Badly.

And as if we hadn’t seen enough environmental hypocrisy under the striped tent, Ed Miliband, the man who thinks you can power a nation on sunshine, wind and wishful thinking, has now signed off on Britain’s largest solar farm, one that vandalises miles of beautiful countryside. It’s like building a fairground over Stonehenge and calling it progress. The environmental wing of Labour’s circus is now less about saving the planet and more about setting it on fire with self-righteousness.

But the real freak show this week? Starmer’s disastrous Chagos Islands deal continues to haunt the ring. Reports now confirm that his bungled giveaway has allowed a foreign satellite tracking station to be built right next to a top-secret UK-US military base. You could not make it up… but Labour somehow always does. This isn’t foreign policy, it’s treasonous trickery in face paint. While Beijing watches Britain through its new window in the Indian Ocean, Starmer waves from the trapeze and pretends it’s all part of the act.

And just when you thought the farce was complete, the EU enters from stage left. Brussels has announced its “reset demands,” and under Starmer’s pliant watch, Britain risks being pulled straight back under EU control. The Brexit lion is being shoved back into the cage, and Keir’s holding the whip… but it’s the EU cracking it. So much for sovereignty; under Labour, we’re right back to fetching Brussels’ biscuits.

So, to recap this week’s circus:

  • The ringmaster takes credit for someone else’s show.
  • The contortionists at Number 10 twist reality into new and dangerous shapes.
  • The balloon-animal economists make a mess of your money.
  • The freak show foreign policy invites China into our backyard.
  • And the fire eaters in Brussels are warming up for Act Two — where Britain gets burned all over again.

The laughter has stopped, the popcorn’s gone stale, and the Big Top is collapsing under the weight of its own nonsense. But rest assured, dear readers, Starmer’s Circus of Shame will be back next week with more slapstick, more scandal, and more reasons to demand the clowns pack up and leave town.

Until then, keep your wallets closed, your flags flying, and your sense of humour intact. Under Two-Tier Keir, Britain isn’t being governed. It’s being entertained… badly. Roll on 2029.
