Boris’s letter to England’s Lionesses ahead of today’s Euro 2022 final

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has written to the England Women’s Football team, wishing them luck in today’s Euro 2022 final.

England will take on Germany at a sold-out Wembley in the Women’s Euro 2022 final which kicks off at 5pm in front of 90,000 fans.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has written to the English team, also known as the Lionesses, wishing them the best of luck saying:

“In any pride it is the lionesses who ruthlessly hunt as a team and bring their prize back home, and I am sure that will be the case against Germany.

“But whatever happens at Wembley this evening, I know that, come tomorrow morning, the pitches and playgrounds and parks of this country will be filled as never before with girls and women who know beyond any shadow of a doubt that football is not just for boys – it really is for anyone.”

The Prime Minister’s full letter to the Lionesses is as below:

  1. This is a man who truly values the strength of women, thank you Boris for all you have done. You will be missed and i hope you return!

We couldn’t be more proud of what the past players and present Ladies England team have achieved to date, it’s been one hell of a battle but they’ve got there.

Thank you for your persistence, hard work and best of luck for tonight’s final.
