CLOWNING STREET: WEEK 54 – This Week’s Madness from ‘Two-Tier Keir’ and His Labour Circus

ROLL UP, ROLL UP! Welcome back, dear readers, to another riotous week under the Big Top of Blunders, where the clowns are in charge, the elephants are fleeing, and the tent is sagging under the weight of delusion, denial and debt.

It is Week 54 in the Starmer Circus, and the Labour troupe has returned with yet more slapstick socialism, unforced errors, and national embarrassment disguised as leadership.

Let us begin with the grand centrepiece of this week’s show: the economy, or what is left of it after Labour’s latest experiment in ideological fire-eating. The UK economy has shrunk again, confirming what many of us already suspected – Rachel Reeves and Keir Starmer could not grow a plastic plant with an instruction manual. The Chancellor’s toolkit now appears to consist of tax rises, business strangulation and panicked spreadsheets. With growth collapsing, confidence evaporating and small businesses clinging on for dear life, we have officially entered the “funnel of doom”phase of the act.

Starmer promised transformation. What we got was stagnation with a drumroll. The once-proud British high street is now starting to resemble a row of boarded-up shops and over-regulated misery, thanks to Labour’s economic wrecking ball, swinging wild and smashing anything that resembles enterprise.

New figures this week also show Labour’s VAT assault on education has already forced 44 private schools to close, displacing children, destabilising communities and punishing aspiration. Apparently, if you work hard and save to give your children opportunity, Labour sees you not as a parent but as a target.

Meanwhile, in the circus’s border tent – or more accurately, the flap wide open to all comers – Labour MP Jo White was caught on tape saying, “I don’t care if we stop the boats.” That is not satire. That is official Labour policy by accidental honesty. While the country grapples with illegal crossings, national security threats, and spiralling migration costs, Labour MPs are shrugging it off like it is a mild breeze at a village fête. The only boats Labour is interested in stopping are cruise liners of economic success.

Not to be outdone on the absurdity scale, the party has now been accused of rigging its own Islamophobia consultation, sparking serious concerns about free speech and political bias. When even consultations are stage-managed like a magician’s trick, you know you are not in a government – you are in a puppet show where the strings are all tangled. This is not inclusion; it is ideological censorship in greasepaint.

Back in the employment tent, the nation was treated to the lowest job growth in 13 years. That’s right – employment has stagnated to a near standstill under Labour’s watch. With job creators throttled, red tape ballooning and investment fleeing faster than Starmer from a straight answer, the country is being dragged backwards while the ringmaster spins slogans and throws more confetti into the air.

And let us not forget Labour’s now fully institutionalised approach to justice. Under their governance, thugs get hugs and Facebook posters get jail. It is the only place on Earth where violent criminals are handed therapy and community service, while someone who types the wrong words gets the full force of the state. It is not justice – it is clown-court authoritarianism dressed up as equality.

So what have we learned from Week 54 under this dystopian big top?

  • The economy is shrinking
  • Children are displaced by tax dogma
  • The boats are being waved in, not turned back
  • Free speech is being gagged with committee tape
  • Jobs are vanishing like rabbits from a hat
  • And justice is whatever the woke ringmaster decides it should be this week

Starmer and his troop of high-vis Marxists promised a new era of integrity, growth and fairness. What they delivered was a tired panto with no plot, no principles and no punchlines – only policy pratfalls, ideological stunts and a nation watching in horror as the tent collapses on top of them.

Until next week, dear readers, guard your wallets, lock your doors and keep your common sense close. In Clowning Street, logic is outlawed, competence is missing, and the clowns just keep tumbling out of the car.
