CLOWNING STREET: WEEK 63 – This Week’s Madness from ‘Two-Tier Keir’ and His Labour Circus

Roll up, roll up, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, and witness what may well be the greatest political farce Britain has ever endured.

Welcome back to the Big Top of Blunders, where the ticket prices rise, the acts grow ever more absurd, and the audience, (that’s us!) are left paying for the carnage.

Yes, it is Week 63 of Clowning Street, and the troupe of bunglers led by Two-Tier Keir have managed to outdo even themselves in the circus of incompetence.

Let us begin with the main event: the Chagos catastrophe. Analysis now shows Starmer’s reckless giveaway could cost British taxpayers an eye-watering 47 billion pounds. That’s not foreign policy. That’s highway robbery disguised as diplomacy. Worse still, Labour’s excuse has been exposed as a lie, the supposed “UNCLOS exemption” that was meant to justify the deal simply doesn’t exist. The Chagossians, betrayed and silenced, have now filed a crimes against humanity complaint at the ICC. Britain isn’t leading on the world stage; we’re performing pratfalls to the jeers of Beijing.

But that’s not the only sleight of hand this week. Just when you thought the circus couldn’t get seedier, along comes the spectacle of Lord Mandelson being sacked as UK ambassador to the US over his Epstein links. Then it’s revealed Starmer knew about the emails all along! Our Prime Minister now stands accused of misleading Parliament and lying to the country over the shadowy Mandelson-Epstein emails. What a show. This isn’t diplomacy. It’s a clown car colliding headfirst with a scandal machine.

On the economic trapeze, Britain has stalled under Labour’s stewardship. The economy is crawling along in the slow lane, dragged down by Reeves’ endless blunders. Debt is soaring, borrowing costs are spiralling, and Mel Stride has now demanded Reeves correct the record over one of her more fantastical debt claims in Parliament this week. The so-called iron Chancellor is juggling with IOUs while the tent collapses around her.

Meanwhile, Londoners have been held hostage yet again this week by militant unions, grinding the capital to a halt. The answer is obvious… driverless trains. But instead of modernisation, Labour prefers to keep commuters as prisoners of the union big tops. It’s not transport policy. It’s Stockholm Syndrome on rails. Come on Londoners, we need to vote Sadiq Khan out!

In the countryside ring, farmers have been betrayed once more. Labour has pulled the plug on stewardship schemes, leaving 5,000 farmers stranded and wildlife protections at risk. Add to that the party’s grossly irresponsible ban on peat burning, and you have a countryside circus ablaze with idiocy. Farmers can’t plant, wildlife can’t thrive, and rural Britain pays the price while Labour’s eco-clowns juggle ideology instead of crops.

And because no circus is complete without a sideshow of identity politics, we now have Harriet Harman demanding that Labour’s deputy leader must be a woman, merit be damned. Forget ability, competence, or vision. In Labour’s circus, the only qualification that matters is ticking a box on the diversity bingo card.

So, to recap this week’s Big Top disasters:

  • Starmer’s Chagos giveaway could cost us 47 billion and has triggered an ICC complaint
  • Starmer accused of misleading Parliament over Mandelson-Epstein emails
  • Mandelson sacked as ambassador in a scandal fit for a circus tent
  • The economy is stalling, debt is soaring, Reeves is wobbling
  • London is paralysed by unions while driverless trains are ignored
  • Farmers are abandoned, wildlife protections gutted, and peat burning bans ignite chaos
  • Labour’s identity politics circus tramples meritocracy once again

The tent poles are buckling, the spotlight is flickering, and the lions are roaring in dismay. But Keir Starmer and his red-nosed troupe keep stumbling forward, convinced that if they just honk the horn loudly enough, no one will notice the sawdust is on fire.

Until next week, dear readers, keep your seats and your wits about you. The clowns are still running the circus — and Britain is still picking up the bill.
