GREAT BRITISH NEWS: Top positive news stories from across the UK this week

Trying to find uplifting news under the current Labour government is like trying to light a fire in a thunderstorm… almost possible.

Yet, here at the Conservative and Reformer Post, we’ve once again struck sparks of hope in a political climate soaked with dreadful policies, indecision, tax raids, and ideological drift.

While Keir Starmer’s government continues to cause havoc and the mainstream press drowns the airwaves in gloom, real achievements are happening every day across this country, largely unnoticed by the national broadcasters, but not by our readers. From proud industrial triumphs to powerful displays of British resolve, this week’s most-read and most-shared stories reveal a nation that still leads, still builds, and still refuses to be told its best days are behind it.

In Northern Ireland, the team at Wrightbus gave the country something to cheer about, scooping the Manufacturer of the Year award. In a time when too many firms are crippled by government red tape and muddled messaging, Wrightbus has charged ahead — a homegrown success story built on British engineering, family values, and forward-thinking innovation.

The triumphs didn’t stop there. Rolls-Royce’s world-famous Trent engines celebrated 30 years of powering planes and flying the flag for British excellence this week. Designed and built in the UK, these engines are a global symbol of reliability, quality and national pride — the kind of story that reminds us Britain still produces the best.

Security and equality also took a meaningful step forward as the country welcomed its first-ever female head of MI6. In a profession built on skill, discretion and grit, the appointment signals not just progress, but Britain’s continuing ability to lead the way on the global stage — quietly, capably, and without fuss.

Meanwhile, as far-left pressure groups launched yet another attack on patriotism, Ben Habib and the Great British PAC stood firm. Refusing to bow to smears or political intimidation, the PAC made clear it won’t be bullied into silence. In fact, it’s already building the legal, structural and policy framework needed for a patriotic realignment in 2029 — while others merely talk about it.

Also our young lions on the pitch delivered a roaring success of their own this week, dispatching Spain and powering into the Euro semi-finals with grit, flair and pride. A timely reminder that British talent, when backed with belief, can still shine on the biggest stage.

Elsewhere, the Invictus Games Foundation reported record-breaking global interest for the 2029 event — a clear signal that Britain’s leadership in sport, service, and recovery remains unmatched. In a political moment obsessed with tearing down institutions, it’s heartening to see British initiatives continue to inspire the world.

Even economic forecasts — long the favorite crutch of post-Brexit doom-monger types — came under fresh scrutiny this week, as experts quietly admitted the much-hyped “tariff apocalypse” linked to Trump’s policies never arrived. The economy didn’t collapse. In fact, in many sectors, it’s thriving. Perhaps there’s something to be said for a bit of guts and Trump-style thinking after all — not that the Left will ever admit it.

And while others scramble to assemble something resembling a political plan, the Great British PAC’s original blueprint continues to gain momentum. It’s a plan not just for the next election — but for the next era of national renewal. While others copy, they’re building.

So, yes… the political weather under Labour may be grim. But look past the headlines, and you’ll see the sparks of something better. This week’s stories are more than feel-good filler; they’re proof that Britain, even under poor leadership, continues to achieve greatness through the strength of its people, its ideas and its institutions.

Because in the end, governments come and go. But the greatness of Britain endures. Roll on 2029.

Here are the best-read and most shared positive stories from this week (16 – 22 June 2025), proving once again that no matter who is in government, the greatness of Britain endures.
