GREAT BRITISH NEWS: Top positive news stories from across the UK this week

Finding good news under this Labour government is like trying to catch sunlight through storm clouds… rare, fleeting, and almost impossible to grasp.

Yet, here at the Conservative Post, we refuse to let Labour’s gloom define our great nation. Week after week, while Keir Starmer dithers and his Cabinet falters, Britain’s true spirit shines through.

We love bringing you the good news every week, because despite the chaos at the top, the British people continue to innovate, inspire, and achieve against all odds.

This week has been no exception. In sport, in service, in culture, and in sheer resilience, the greatness of Britain has once again taken centre stage. The Red Roses lifted the whole country with a triumphant World Cup victory on home soil, a moment of pride and unity that showed the world the unbreakable determination of English rugby. On the waters of China, our rowers delivered a spectacular medal haul, flying the flag with glory and grit. Sporting achievement remains one of the purest demonstrations of British resolve, and this week has given us plenty to celebrate.

Our Armed Forces, too, reminded us why they remain among the very best in the world. British paratroopers displayed world-class airborne excellence in Exercise Falcon Leap 2025, reinforcing our reputation as a global leader in defence and discipline. The King himself welcomed HMS Agamemnon into the Royal Navy, strengthening Britain’s naval power at a time when global uncertainty demands strength, not weakness. Gurkha recruits proudly celebrated their cap-badging ceremony, another reminder of the loyalty and sacrifice that fortify our Armed Forces and our national character.

It was also a week of commemoration and reflection, as the nation came together to honour the heroes of the skies at the 85th Battle of Britain memorial service. Their courage echoes across generations, a reminder that Britain does not bow to tyranny and never will. While Labour may be busy embarrassing us on the world stage, Britain’s past, present, and future continue to prove our resilience and our pride.

On the political front, Advance UK once again showed its mettle. Ben Habib pulled off the extraordinary, launching a 400-strong rally with just 24 hours’ notice after repeated attempts to silence him with cancelled venues. It was not just a show of organisational brilliance, but a demonstration of determination that will inspire patriots across the land. Despite the spin and smears thrown from all directions, the patriotic right continues to gather strength, and the people are paying attention.

Meanwhile, Labour’s attempts to twist narratives about Boris Johnson fell flat. The so-called “Boriswave” collapse story has been exposed for what it is… nothing more than spin from those desperate to distract from their own failings. The British people know the truth, and they can see through the smoke and mirrors.

Taken together, these stories reveal something powerful: Britain’s greatness does not rely on government press briefings or hollow ministerial promises. It is being forged every day in our stadiums, in our shipyards, in our skies, and in the hearts of patriots determined to protect our future.

So while Labour dithers and disappoints, remember this: Britain is still leading, still achieving, and still thriving. And here at the Conservative Post, we will continue to bring you the stories that prove it… because no matter who occupies Downing Street, the greatness of Britain endures.

  1. The huffington post has fought back! No, Keir Starmer didn’t say people who are worried about immigration are racist.
