If we can fire up a guerilla war and re-engage the silent majority, we can force miserable Labour to give up as well.

PACs (Political Action Committees) are common in America and incredibly powerful, it was Elon Musk’s PAC that galvanised support for Donald Trump by uniting a wide array of supporters and benefactors. However, PACs are not affiliated to any political party – and that is what makes the Great British Pac perfect for uniting the right.

Demand ‘Us First’ Local Direct Democracy
Both the Conservatives and Reform face a challenge. While the parties have made progress on the back of Labour’s catastrophic honeymoon, they still need to galvanise new voters to come out and vote for them.
For the Conservatives, that means young voters, whose view of the party is incredibly negative; as well as the 2019 ‘Red Wall’ voters, who feel betrayed over Brexit and immigration.
While Reform has made incredible gains at the Conservatives’ expense, it may be harder to win over those with a negative view of Brexit or Nigel Farage, on top of the natural scepticism of voting for a new and untested party. That is why the New Right must find ways to engage voters at local level.
This is why local direct democracy could be the most powerful of weapon in winning over millions of new voters. Both The Conservatives and Reform are largely hamstrung at Parliamentary level until the next general election. However, local elections in the meantime could provide them with an opportunity to exert real power and win the hearts and minds of millions.
We are already seeing a growth in community uprisings: whether it be by-election rebellions against unpopular developments, angry farmers or anti-immigrant protests. These represent a cry for help and a growing hostility towards over-centralised government, with its fetish to make everywhere like the worst parts of London. For Labour, this is a vindictive crusade to destroy ‘Deep England’ with migrant camps and pylons. If we do not rise up, the ancient cultures and landscapes of Norfolk, Suffolk and Lincolnshire will be lost forever.
With local elections coming up, the New Right should offer a slate of populist local referendums as the cornerstone of its council and mayoral election pledges. This could perfectly tap into voter anger and win thousands of seats.
Local direct democracy is incredibly powerful, because it engages people at community level. It gets them talking among their neighbours, and crucially it gets them voting. Even though those votes might be on local-scale issues, these are what matter to local people.
Crucially, it is proof that a politician or party is listening. The strongest voter sentiment at the moment is the sense of being ignored. Referendums make people feel noticed again: it gives them a voice, just as Brexit re-engaged vast swathes of the country. The most extensive recent survey of British public attitudes by Frank Luntz proves this beyond doubt. For anyone party wanting a landslide, the big USP is giving voters a voice again, giving them attention, and not ignoring them.
In this sense, local direct democracy is the ultimate ‘gateway drug’ for the New Right. Once voters are engaged on issues and vote in local referendums, it is hard for them not to vote for the party promising to deliver their choices. This is how Johnson won over millions of new conservative voters. You give people referendums; then you promise to get it done. There is an extra bonus for the victor: because while the opposition inevitably vacillates over the results (May, Corbyn, etc.), their popularity collapses and their parties are plunged into chaos and infighting.
And once those democratic referendums start, much like any form of protest, they become infectious. Soon everyone will be demanding similar votes for their area.
In theory, Labour could ignore local referendum demands. But as Brexit showed, that would be political suicide. The optics would be horrific – just think of those riot police in Ireland battling old ladies over migrant hostels. Just like Brexit, the hostility would grow uncontrolled, and the government would likely have to quit. The alternative would to bow to the demands of local direct democracy, and kill off Labour’s entire Socialist agenda.
What could be included in local ‘Us First’ Referendums?
- Tailored Local Referendums on hot-button local issues.
- No housing or hotel accommodation for illegal arrivals, regardless of asylum status.
- Social housing priority for long-term British nationals and locals living in the area for >10 years.
- Anti-woke local policing that prioritises catching and prosecuting serious offenders and illegal immigrants over woke offences and EDI initiatives.
- Defund all local authority wokery: no decolonisation measures, scrap all EDI roles, with all hiring and appointments based solely on merit.
- Local votes on all traffic charges; including LEZ zones.
- Local autonomy to approve mining and fossil fuel projects and get the royalites.
- Local direct democracy for decisions over green infrastructure, like pylons, turbines, solar farms etc.
- And lastly, a local planning referendum for every council ward. This is a huge hot button issue in the South East.
Those that want to could choose to become a vibrant Development Zone with simplified planning laws but little protection for community and environment. The only new stipulation being that the extra infrastructure required for the development (sewage, new roads, etc.) has to be agreed and built before any development is started.
Other neighbourhoods could vote to become Conservation Parks. This would see building restricted to within existing footprints. All new building would have to be beautiful, UNESCO World Heritage standard. Green space would be expanded and brownfield areas naturalised.
This would give voters back the fundamental right to choose the fate of their neighbourhoods. It would return power to the people and end the vice-like grip of venal developers to destroy the places we cherish.
It is also a smart way to propel levelling up. Younger, more deprived areas would be more likely to become Development Zones; choosing to reap the economic rewards of construction, inward investment, new housing, new infrastructure and jobs.
Meanwhile, affluent neighbourhoods with older populations would be more likely to opt for Conservation Park status. That would mean slower growth and less economic dynamism, but a more idyllic community and environment.
The bonus is that this not only undermines Labour’s building plans, it forces the issue of mass migration. If insufficient neighbourhoods want more building, migration has to give.
All these issues have the power to reignite political activism among the silent majority, explode Labour’s plans and propel us back into government.

It is already clear that Labour is not going to win another term, with the next government likely to be Conservative, Reform or a coalition of the two.
That is powerful, because we can announce policies right now that will both strengthen our position and undermine Labour’s.
The most obvious opportunity is with tax policy. Rachel Reeves catastrophic maiden budget is already crashing the economy; and there is every sign that there will be more disasters to come.
We can capitalise on that by promising tax cuts that will slow the economy under Labour, and hyper-boost it the moment we are back in power.
The most obvious example is Capital Gains Tax. If the New Right promise to slash CGT to 10% in their first year of office, everyone with assets to sell is going to hold off till 2029. That puts economic activity and tax revenues into deep-freeze under Labour, but the moment we are back in power, all the pent-up activity will burst forth, firing up economic activity on day 1.
Exactly the same dynamics could work with Stamp duty. By promising to slash it in 2029, we can freeze the housing market now by encouraging owners to sit tight. Then, with a big cut in 2029, we will enjoy a massive rush of economic activity.
And we could do something similar with oil & gas investment; promising generous terms and lower taxes after 2029. That will encourage companies to leave oil in the ground till we are back in power, and then fire up investment and prosperity.
Then there are those valuable non-doms. We could promise to launch a new elite regime for multi-millionaires arriving after 2029. Much like the tide, that would encourage all those non-doms to flee with their money under Labour, and then charge back as soon as we get back in.
Another option would be a pledge to stick very high levels of stamp duty or windfall tax on structures built against local wishes, especially on greenbelt. That would include Miliband’s ghastly pylons and solar farms, as well as Rayner’s plans to cover cherished green spaces in concrete housing estates for illegal immigrants. If we promise to put vast windfall taxes on every one of these hated developments, developers will not touch them. That will kill Labour’s building boom. When we are back in power, we can pursue sustainable, beautiful and locally democratic approaches to planning and construction.
I could go on, but you get the picture. There are dozens of tax pledges we could make that would encourage people and businesses to defer economic activity now (= recession under labour), and splurge after the General Election. That guarantees a huge economic boost and 1997-style feel-good factor for the next, true conservative leader.
