A new movement has taken Britain by storm. Operation #RaiseTheColours, born from ordinary men and women who want to see their national identity celebrated, is spreading like wildfire across our towns, cities and villages.
From Birmingham to Bradford, from Norwich to Newcastle, the red cross of St George and the Union Jack are appearing on houses, lampposts, roundabouts, and bridges in an unapologetic display of patriotism.
Even in Tower Hamlets, a borough long festooned with Palestinian flags, the unmistakable red and white of England has now appeared. The people are rising. The message is clear: Britain belongs to the British people, and its flags will fly once again.
“It made me feel proud”
We caught up with one patriot in Redditch who had been busy putting up flags over the weekend.
“I put the flags up in Redditch this morning after seeing them go up across Birmingham over the past couple of weeks,” he told us. “It made me feel proud. I worry that British culture is being chipped away bit by bit, and I wanted to do something, however small, to stand up for the values that matter. I believe in this country, and I know many others do too. It’s time we remembered what makes Britain great.”
In Worcester, another campaigner told the Post:
“This Labour government seem to despise our country, but the people have had enough. We are rising, we are uniting. Birmingham council is rushing to tear down Union Jacks yet allowed Palestinian flags to fly for months… it’s a disgrace. We are taking our country back, and we will show them that patriots will not stand by. Rule Britannia!”
Across Birmingham, patriots have even begun painting roundabouts red and white, defiantly claiming back public space. James in Rubery said: “As councils declare war against St George’s and Union Jack flags, patriots across the country are now placing flags everywhere.”
Councils Crack Down – Patriots Double Down
Birmingham council ordered the removal of hundreds of flags this month, citing supposed “safety concerns” about banners hanging 25 feet off the ground. Now Tower Hamlets council in London, run by the pro-Gaza Aspire Party, has followed suit, declaring that St George’s flags will be taken down “as soon as possible.”
Yet critics have accused these councils of “two-tier bias.”
Palestinian flags were allowed to fly for months without intervention, but the national flag of Britain? Torn down within days. Robert Jenrick MP blasted the policy as “absurd national loathing.” Former Conservative leader Sir Iain Duncan Smith demanded to know: “Why would we leave [Palestinian flags] up and take down flags that represent one of the countries of the UK?”
Suella Braverman added: “Our national flags are a great source of pride and patriotism. They should be flown from as many places as possible, as often as possible.”
A Call to Every Patriot
This is no longer just about flags. It is about identity, culture, and the very future of Britain. From Swindon to Sunderland, from city centre to rural village, patriots are determined to ensure that the flag of our country never becomes a stranger on our own soil.
“For every one they tear down, a dozen will be raised,” said one activist. Another added with steel in his voice: “The British Bulldog will eventually bite back – and we won’t take kindly to these Labour councillors or politicians who hate our country. We are patriots… the patriots are uniting. We will save our country.”
Editor’s View: A Nation Awakens
This is not fringe. This is not temporary. This is the beating heart of a country that refuses to bow, refuses to surrender, and refuses to apologise for who we are.
The UK Government’s own 2021 guidance declares that flags are a “very British way of expressing joy and pride.” Now the people are taking those words seriously. And so the call goes out: Join Operation #RaiseTheColours. But make sure you do it safely and within the law.
Let’s see our flags flying in every town, city, and village in Britain. Let the world see that these banners are not mere cloth fluttering in the wind – they are the fabric of our history, our unity, and our indomitable spirit.
