The Labour Party has come under intense criticism after it was revealed that nearly 100 of its current and former staff members were set to travel to the United States in the coming weeks to campaign for Kamala Harris in the upcoming US election.

The controversy erupted after Labour’s Head of Operations announced on social media that the party was even searching for an additional ten people to join the campaign in the “battleground state” of North Carolina, with the promise of housing arrangements for volunteers. “I have nearly 100 Labour staff (current and former) going to the US in the next few weeks, heading to North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia,” the post read. “I have 10 spots available for anyone available to head to the battleground state of North Carolina—we will sort your housing.”
The post drew immediate criticism online, with accusations of “foreign election interference” being levied against the party. Elon Musk stated: “This is Illegal.” Political commentator Nicholas Lissack voiced his disapproval: “Why are 100 Labour Party staffers packing their bags for America to campaign for Kamala Harris? Let’s get real—you’re British, not foot soldiers for Washington’s liberal elite! You owe your loyalty to your constituents back home, not the political playground across the pond.”
Philosopher Dr. Calum Miller echoed this sentiment, stating: “UK government party sending 100 current and former staff to the US to campaign for Harris. We all know if this were foreign governments helping the Republicans, it would be called ‘election interference.'”
As criticism mounted, the Conservative Post understands Labour is being forced to pull the plug on the trip. Just last month, Labour MP Ruth Cadbury faced backlash after posting images of her trip to “stop Trump winning.” Social media users questioned how the excursion was funded and criticised her priorities, with some branding the trip “a joke” and “wrong on every level.” The latest fiasco has only added fuel to the fire.
