Keir Starmer, I have a simple request: where is the £22 billion black hole you keep harping on about?
For months, you’ve wielded this ominous figure like some economic Sword of Damocles, slicing through any opposition to your policies. But let’s be honest, where is it? Where’s the proof? Where’s the transparency?
A Miraculous Coincidence
It’s awfully convenient, isn’t it, that Labour’s so-called £22 billion black hole aligns exactly with the amount Starmer plans to spend on carbon capture. Yes, £22 billion to fund Labour’s untested, expensive green gamble. You don’t need to be Sherlock Holmes to spot the glaring inconsistency.
This is the same figure Labour uses as a cudgel to blame the Conservatives for an economic “catastrophe.” Yet now, with breathtaking audacity, Starmer proposes spending that same amount on carbon capture technology, as though the sums will miraculously balance themselves. Clowning Street strikes again.
Context Matters
Let’s not forget how we got here. Labour’s unions and lefty lawyers held this country to ransom during the pandemic. Schools were shut for months as unions blocked teachers from returning to classrooms. The WHO’s health advice was weaponised by lefty activists to push Downing Street into harsher, longer lockdowns. And who demanded these measures louder than anyone? Labour.
No-one demanded longer and harsher lockdowns than Labour and they now have the audacity to moan about a cost of living crisis. These measures cost the nation an eye-watering £400 billion. Yes, £400 billion—yet here we are, being lectured about a £22 billion black hole Labour hasn’t even proven exists. The hypocrisy is staggering.
Then there’s Labour’s fervent green posturing, which has dismantled the backbone of Britain’s industrial strength. Our coal, steel, and homegrown energy industries—once the pride of this nation—have been sacrificed on the altar of virtue signalling and union power. The result? Energy dependence on Russia, China, and anyone willing to sell at exorbitant prices. Under this Labour government, it will only get worse. Mark my words.
Don’t Forget the Boats
And while we’re at it, let’s not overlook Labour’s appalling record on immigration. They’ve voted over 130 times against measures to stop the boats. It’s as if they want the British taxpayer to spend £10 million a day housing illegal migrants in hotels. Is this Labour Government secretly trying to undermine Britain? It feels like it. Perhaps so they can run back into the arms of the EU? Call me a conspiracy theorist if you like. I don’t care. This is exactly what I think they are doing.
Starmer’s Double Standards
Let’s not mince words: Labour’s priorities are all over the place. They cry wolf about a £22 billion deficit while preparing to spend £22 billion on a green experiment that’s far from proven. They tax businesses into oblivion, drive away entrepreneurs, and punish Britain’s highest earners, forcing them to pack their bags and leave. Farmers, pensioners, and small businesses are being squeezed to breaking point while Labour policies drain the very lifeblood of our economy.
The British people aren’t fools. We see the contradictions. We see the hypocrisy. And we demand answers.

Prime Minister Starmer, it’s time to stop hiding behind empty slogans and start providing evidence. Where is the £22 billion black hole you keep citing?
