Keir Starmer has racked up an eye-watering £700,000 in flight costs in just three months—more than the last three Conservative Prime Ministers combined!
That’s right, Starmer’s air miles could make a frequent flyer blush, as he takes off at taxpayers’ expense.
Dubbed ‘Never Here Keir’, the PM has clocked up more miles than Heathrow’s busiest runway, with critics slamming his hypocrisy over private jet use.
The Mail on Sunday revealed that Starmer’s airborne antics have cost £161,000 more than Rishi Sunak, Boris Johnson, and Liz Truss combined over the equivalent period.
Starmer’s ‘Private Jet Addiction’?
Before landing in No.10, Starmer hypocritically slated the Tories for their “private jet addiction”, pledging that Labour would NEVER follow suit. But now, the man who was meant to keep his feet on the ground has his head in the clouds—literally!
One particularly turbulent trip was his jaunt to Germany for the Euro 2024 final, where he was joined by a family member—all at the public’s expense! No budget airline for Starmer, oh no, just a VIP seat while taxpayers foot the bill.
His trip to New York for the UN General Assembly? A staggering £236,020—almost double what Liz Truss spent on the same journey in 2022! That’s a lot of peanuts and in-flight champagne.
Sky-High Spending
Between July and September, Starmer’s jet-setting included official visits to:
- Paris for the Olympics Opening Ceremony
- Washington DC for a NATO summit
- Rome, Dublin, and Berlin for bilateral meetings
In total, Starmer’s jet-fuelled government has cost £697,198—and counting! Comparatively, Boris, Truss, and Rishi’s flights combined over the same period in previous years cost a mere £536,085.
Public ‘Losing Patience’
Pollsters say voters aren’t buying Starmer’s excuses. Luke Tryl from More in Common told the Mail: ‘It is striking that people in our focus groups since the autumn have been raising concerns that Keir Starmer “always seems to be abroad”.’
Conservative MP Paul Holmes called it “the height of hypocrisy”, given Labour’s endless attacks on government flights before coming into power.
And it’s not just Starmer living it up in first class. His Foreign Secretary David Lammy has clocked up an even bigger bill—over £900,000 in flights from July to September. That’s enough for a private jet fleet.
