The BBC is hiring a ‘Head of Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging’ at a staggering salary of up to £125,000.
That’s right, a six-figure salary for a role that sounds like it was plucked straight from the wokeist utopia of corporate bureaucracy.
It’s a slap in the face to every hard-working licence fee payer, especially elderly pensioners who are still threatened with prosecution if they don’t cough up for this circus.
The BBC should be ashamed. The once-proud national broadcaster now resembles a bloated, ideologically driven outfit more interested in social engineering than delivering impartial journalism. The case for scrapping the licence fee has never been clearer. Let them fund their ideological pet projects, but not on the backs of British citizens forced to pay under threat of law.
The so-called Biased British Corporation can no longer be trusted to deliver objective news. Their recent Gaza documentary is just the latest in a long line of scandals exposing their agenda-driven reporting. Even the BBC themselves admitted that the film contained “serious flaws,” with counter-terrorism police now assessing whether licence fee money indirectly funded a Hamas-linked family. Let that sink in: your money might have funded terrorist sympathisers.
The film in question, Gaza: How to Survive a Warzone, was so riddled with bias and mistranslation that it strayed from journalism into outright propaganda. Key figures in the documentary were linked to Hamas, mistranslations downplayed antisemitic rhetoric, and a cameraman associated with the production openly celebrated the October 7 Hamas attacks. Yet, when the BBC’s own board had to face the music, they opted for a self-conducted review. Marking their own homework, again.
Can you imagine if GB News had made a mess of this scale? The outrage would be deafening. Ofcom would be breathing down their necks, advertisers would be pulling out, and cancellation would be imminent. But because it’s the BBC, they’ll investigate themselves, make a half-hearted apology, and carry on with business as usual.
The BBC’s failures aren’t just limited to their foreign reporting. Domestically, they continue to push a worldview that many licence fee payers simply don’t share. Their news output, their entertainment programming, even their children’s content—everything is infused with a barely disguised ideological bias. A slow, relentless drip-feed of propaganda, paid for by people who long ago stopped believing in their mission.
The solution is obvious: end the licence fee. Let the BBC enter the marketplace like everyone else. They can hire as many diversity czars as they want, but without forcing pensioners and struggling families to foot the bill. The public should not be compelled to pay for an organisation that doesn’t reflect their values, cannot maintain impartiality, and continues to insult its own audience.
The BBC’s latest scandal is the final nail in the coffin. It’s time to cut the cord. If they want to survive, let them stand on their own two feet—without extorting the British public.

Agree with all that. The question is… how?
The BBC is so pro-Labour that the current excuse for a govt won’t do it – in fact they are talking about pushing the cost as a universal payment so we can no longer opt out.
If even the Tories wouldn’t do it in 14 years of being bashed by the BBC (and even watching as the BBC reneged on its promise not to impose the licence fee on pensioners)… do we have to wait for a Reform govt to get this done?
Articles that say “should, must” etc are not very helpful – it’s important to address how.
