The civil war within Reform UK has reached fever pitch, as Rupert Lowe MP has hit back at the party’s leadership, branding the allegations against him a “maliciously concocted” attempt to discredit him.
In a blistering post on X this morning, Lowe dismantled the official Reform statement, exposing what he claims is a politically motivated hit job, rife with distortions and outright falsehoods.
The MP for Great Yarmouth, who has been suspended from the party, did not hold back. “This is important,” he wrote. “I want to break down the Reform statement about me in full and show you how it is maliciously concocted to drag my name through the mud with zero credible evidence against me. All because I dared to pose a few reasonable questions of Reform’s leadership.”
Weaponising Woke HR Tactics?
What is unfolding looks increasingly like an orchestrated witch hunt, with woke HR processes cynically weaponised to remove an MP. Reform UK’s statement cited complaints from two female staff members about “serious bullying” in Lowe’s offices. But as Lowe explains, these complaints were actually nothing to do with him and only materialised after disciplinary proceedings were launched against both employees for “serious offences.” The timing, he suggests, is more than suspect.
“These allegations are not against me personally, but the ‘office,’” Lowe clarified. “Parliamentary HR was involved every step of the way, and full process was followed. One of the individuals later dropped her appeal. They were Parliamentary employees, not Reform employees.”
Twisted Accusations and Wasted Police Time
Perhaps the most astonishing claim made by Reform UK is that Lowe made threats of physical violence against Chairman Zia Yusuf—a charge that Lowe flatly denies.
“This is total nonsense,” he said. “In December, Zia and I had a robust debate. We moved on, or so I thought. But suddenly, the day after I raise concerns about party leadership, this is reported to the police—months after the supposed incident. What a disgraceful waste of police time.”
Lowe accuses Reform of deliberately conflating unrelated incidents to make him look guilty. He dismisses claims that he made derogatory comments about women and disabilities, pointing out that the remarks in question were made by a different staff member in private WhatsApp messages. The fact that this private conversation was leaked and repackaged as a scandal against him, he argues, is proof of the party’s bad faith.
Has Reform UK Lost the Plot?
According to a regional Reform UK Director: “The party’s handling of this crisis is nothing short of disastrous and at the centre of it all is Zia Yusuf. This is Reform UK—the supposed anti-establishment force that vowed to fight political correctness and champion fairness. Yet here we are, watching them adopt the dirtiest tactics of the woke establishment they claim to oppose. Zia needs to go.”
Rupert Lowe asks the key question:
Is it now Reform policy to oust MPs on the basis of vexatious complaints, even while those making the complaints are under disciplinary investigation themselves?
Because according to a Reform UK supporter: “If that is the case, Reform has just fired a warning shot at every single one of its MPs: Step out of line, question the leadership, and your career will be torched. This isn’t going to end well. I’m now questioning my support.”
Nigel Farage: The Moment of Truth
This is a moment of reckoning for Nigel Farage. A former Reform Regional Director told the Post: “Reform’s chairman, Zia Yusuf, appears to be leading the party down a path of self-destruction, turning internal disputes into a public spectacle and turning workplace disagreements into full-blown legal dramas. Nigel, if you’re listening, this is not a good idea.
“The public sees through these dirty tricks. They have had enough of political witch hunts, enough of career assassinations, enough of backroom plots to silence strong voices. The British people admire courage, not cowardice. If Reform UK doesn’t course-correct—and fast—it risks becoming just another untrustworthy party playing the same establishment games it was meant to disrupt.”
Rupert Lowe is not backing down. He has handed the matter over to his legal team and is preparing for a fight.
The only question now is: Will Nigel Farage step in and put an end to this farce before Reform UK tears itself apart?
