In a stunning show of public fury, more than 10,000 Brits have signed a petition in less than a week demanding Parliament block Keir Starmer’s secretive and shameful surrender of the Chagos Islands.
The deal, signed with no public consultation, no parliamentary scrutiny, and no protections for the British-Chagossian people, would hand over one of Britain’s most strategic overseas territories to Mauritius.
Critics have called it unlawful, undemocratic, racist, and reckless. And now, the British public is fighting back.
“It’s a betrayal of our country, our people, and our principles,” thundered Ben Habib, Chairman of the Great British PAC who organised the petition last weekend. “This is a complete surrender of British territory — without a single shot fired.”

Although the deal has now been signed by Keir Starmer, it’s not yet law. It must first be ratified by Parliament. That gives MPs the power to stop this disgrace in its tracks, and campaigners are urging voters to flood their MPs’ inboxes.
EMAIL YOUR MP NOW: THE PEOPLE HAVE HAD ENOUGH
The Great British PAC is asking people to Email their MP — and tell them to vote against the Chagos deal. A PAC spokesperson says: “Whether your MP is Labour, Lib Dems, Green, Reform, Conservative, or from another party, the MPs need to hear directly from their constituents that this deal is not in your name. People need to let them know they don’t want this dreadful deal.”
Claire Bullivant, CEO of the PAC, warned:
“This is the last chance saloon. MPs must understand: the British people are watching. We will not forget how they vote on this.”
Here’s how to act now:
- Find your MP: https://members.parliament.uk/FindYourMP
- Send a short email with the word CHAGOS in the subject line.
- Say you strongly oppose this deal and urge them to vote against it.
- Include your full name and postcode to prove you’re a constituent.
EMAIL EXAMPLE:
Subject line: Stop the Chagos Betrayal
Dear [MP’s Name],
I am writing as your constituent to express my deep concern about the Government’s decision to hand over the Chagos Islands to Mauritius.
This deal is undemocratic, strategically disastrous, environmentally destructive, and a shameful betrayal of the British-Chagossian community. What’s at Stake:
- The surrender of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius — a vital UK military stronghold in the Indian Ocean.
- A £30 billion+ payout — agreed without public consultation or Parliamentary consent.
- The betrayal of the Chagossian people, who were never consulted and may now be permanently cut off from their homeland.
- Potential damage to the most precious and protected marine area worldwide.
This undemocratic and racially discriminatory deal was signed without scrutiny, without a vote, and without transparency. Prime Minister Keir Starmer has also misled the country, claiming China opposed the deal, when media reports show Beijing is celebrating.
I urge you to vote against this deal when it comes before Parliament.
Yours sincerely,
[Your Name]

This is not a fringe issue — it’s a defining test of whether Britain’s MPs will stand up for sovereignty, justice, and the people they represent… or roll over and betray them.
