GREAT BRITISH NEWS: Top positive news stories from across the UK this week

Most weeks it feels as though the good news about Britain has to be dug out with a spade from under the relentless landslide of Labour’s dithering, distractions, and dismal headlines.

Yet, time and again, there are glimmers of hope: our country still produces moments of excellence, achievement, and pride that no amount of Westminster waffle can overshadow.

This week, the Conservative and Reformer Post has once again unearthed the proof that Britain remains a powerhouse of talent, tradition, and tenacity… and that the fight for our future is alive and well.

On the world stage, Britain’s resolve was on full display as the US Congress raised serious concerns over Keir Starmer’s Chagos Islands deal thanks to the Great British PAC, underlining that international eyes are watching and questioning his judgment. While Labour is busy cutting backroom deals, patriotic voices here and abroad are demanding accountability and standing up for Britain’s interests.

From the parade grounds of Harrogate came the sight of hundreds of young soldiers proudly graduating in the prestigious pass-out parade at the Army Foundation College this week, the next generation of servicemen and women stepping forward to defend our country. Their discipline, courage, and commitment are a timely reminder of the backbone Britain needs now more than ever.

In the political arena, the momentum is shifting. The call to “Make Conservatism Great Again” is gathering steam, reminding the country that being on the right is not a relic of the past, but the path to restoring common sense, sovereignty, and strength. A new sovereignty poll hammered that point home, shattering the myth of an EU return and showing voters firmly back full national control across the board.

Our Armed Forces also continued to lead from the front this week, with American Marines launching fighter jets from the Royal Navy’s flagship HMS Prince of Wales in a landmark Pacific exercise, while the mighty carrier continued flight operations and took on ammunition and supplies in the Philippine Sea. The message was clear: Britain’s naval power still commands respect on the high seas.

Back home, the Duchess of Edinburgh honoured the 25th anniversary of 4 Armoured Close Support Battalion REME, a tribute to the engineers and technicians whose skill keeps our Army moving. In industry, Scottish-based Orbex was pre-selected for the European Launcher Challenge, putting British space capability firmly in the race for the future.

Heritage and pageantry met military precision in Edinburgh, where the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo celebrated its 75th anniversary with the British Army leading the spectacle. It was Britain at its finest, disciplined, proud, and steeped in tradition that still stirs the soul.

And in sport, Britain’s young baseball heroes pulled off a historic victory, storming to European Championship gold in the U23 category. It’s proof that wherever the Union Jack flies, from the seas of the Pacific to the ballparks of Europe, British grit and determination can carry the day.

These are the stories the establishment press will skim past, but they matter. They show that despite the noise from Clowning Street, Britain’s fighting spirit endures. Our armed forces train, our industries innovate, our athletes win, and our patriots push back. From the patriots at the Great British PAC to the sailors on the flight deck of HMS Prince of Wales, the battle for Britain’s future is well underway… and it’s a fight we must win.
