CLOWNING STREET: WEEK 43 – This Week’s Madness from ‘Two-Tier Keir’ and His Labour Circus

Roll up, roll up! Welcome back, dear readers, to another riotous week under the Big Top of Blunders, where the Labour circus lurches on in all its disorganised, ideological glory.

Yes, it’s Week 43 of Clowning Street, and the performers are more confused, more chaotic, and more comically out of touch than ever before.

Centre stage this week is Labour’s latest plan to rent homes for illegal Channel migrants — all at the taxpayer’s expense, of course. Forget British families struggling to get on the housing ladder; under the Starmer Circus Housing Scheme, the red carpet is being rolled out for illegal entrants while the rest of the country gets to pick up the tab. It’s social justice, Labour-style: backwards, burdensome, and baffling.

Remember when Starmer promised to “smash the gangs” to win the General Election? What a liar. He’s not smashing them — he’s practically “going into business with them.”

Not to be outdone, the Net Zero brigade has launched what can only be described as a supervillain stunt. In scenes that would make a Bond baddie blush, eco-zealots are now entertaining the idea of literally blotting out the sun to fight climate change. It’s the kind of deranged thinking you’d expect in a bad science fiction novel, yet it’s now part of the policy conversation. You can’t make this stuff up — but Labour can.

Meanwhile, Rachel Reeves’s economic acrobatics have finally come crashing to earth. Her plan to scrap the non-dom tax status has triggered a mass exodus, leaving a gaping £14.6 billion black hole in her already wobbly spending forecasts. In the world of fiscal fantasy, Reeves has pulled off the impossible: losing billions in her first year in Number 11. It’s not so much wealth redistribution as wealth reduction — and it’s all part of the act.

Speaking of losing things, small British vineyards and retailers are the latest casualties of Labour’s relentless tax raid. Majestic Wine announced this week they’re already pulling bottles from shelves thanks to the financial fallout. Who knew Labour could ruin wine? And yet here we are, watching the sommelier struggle under the weight of state intervention, as if Merlot now requires a manifesto.

The absurdity doesn’t stop there. According to the Labour circus, you’re now labelled “far right” if you think parents should feed their own children. Yes, the basic idea that mums and dads should bear responsibility for their offspring is now controversial in Clowning Street. Once upon a time, common sense was common. Now, it’s a radical position.

And speaking of common sense, the courts are now being forced to define the blindingly obvious. In a land once ruled by reason, we now need legal rulings to establish basic biological truths and defend traditional family roles. Britain 2025 is shaping up to be a place where truth must first be vetted by committee.

Finally, financial experts are warning that under Reeves’ watch, the UK could be heading for a crash. As if we weren’t already on enough of a rollercoaster, Labour seems determined to send us down the fiscal flume ride headfirst, blindfolded, with no brakes.

So there you have it, dear readers: another week of misplaced priorities, reality-defying policies, and ideological circus acts under the increasingly unstable tent of Labour leadership. With Starmer as the ringmaster, Reeves on the high wire, and the rest of the troupe juggling nonsense and dogma, Clowning Street remains the only show in town where the ticket price keeps rising and the performances keep getting worse.

Stay tuned for next week’s instalment. Until then, keep your feet on the ground, your wallet in your pocket, and your common sense firmly intact.
